“You see, most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten. You’re on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up, you’re on ten on your guitar. Where can you go from there? Where?”
“I don’t know.”
“Nowhere. Exactly. What we do is, if we need that extra push over the cliff, you know what we do?”
“Put it up to eleven.”
“Eleven. Exactly. One louder.”
“Why don’t you just make ten louder and make ten be the top number and make that a little louder?”

Excellent – You get the award for the the first Spinal tap mention ever here.
This one made the rounds in our office earlier this week — great piece. For some reason I don’t quite understand, that fact that it’s not in English and is subtitled makes it particularly funny.
A spiritual ancestor of this piece is, of course, the Xerox “monk” ad form the 70′s: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_IgH2M02xek. Worth watching again, to ponder where we’ve come from in the past 30-odd years.
I love the size of that copier – and 2 pages per second!
The clip is in Norwegian (and trust me, the translations don’t do it justice! :), the bottom translation is Danish, before the top translation of English. And I’m in Australia, found this link through my US aggregator. It’s going to be one of those days …
The Frantics (canadian radio comedy ca 1980′s ?) had a skit about the romans converting to decimal… ‘twelve, what’s this twelve? If you mean XII, just say it!’
